I work on data analysis of multiple projects and use snowflake to write queries, pull data, and do some analysis. Typically, I use Snowflake to pull data from database in order to check the current status or pull experiment results for some tests we run. I like to use app. Snowflake instead of the main site.
  • Speed
  • UI
  • Short keys
  • Auto formatting
  • Organizing multiple queries/projects
Snowflake is a very good tool for analysis, easily used.
  • Query
  • Database
  • Improve efficiency
Snowflake is much faster and easier to write queries and pull data. But the visualization part of Snowflake is not as good as them. Also, Snowflake only supports SQL queries but not python or other languages. So basically Snowflake is the expert in its field but not suitable for a broad use case.

Snowflake has enabled me to connect with data service providers. Through this software, I am capable of making data-driven decisions and providing my customers modern and integrated data applications. It is a cost-effective tool and we are its satisfied customers. This software has occupied every nook and corner of my IT department and we are at ease to handle the online data and supply it to our customers.
  • This is a cloud-based application that provides me a secure platform for the easy sharing of data with my clients.
  • I feel confident to connect with my numerous business partners just because of its advanced security and effective programming.
  • Through this tool, I am capable of integrating, analyzing, and the entire data in a precise form and with analytics as well, due to which I always have a transparent idea about the data extraction and its transfer from multiple clouds.
  • This tool is very much technical and proper knowledge is required, so mostly you have to hire an IT team.
  • I wish if various videos could be available for basic quires like its initiation, then I think it would act as a guideline and would help the beginners a lot.
It is highly recommended to those companies that need a track and secure mode for the transfer of the data. Its sharing is amazing for the business community. It will be suitable for the B2B type business setups. This tool is very cost-effective and will align your daily technical queries for better handling.
  • Its auto-refresh feature is amazing that always keeps on refreshing the warehouse data.
  • It always keeps our history that let us investigate in all previous activities.
  • Reporting is completely reliable through Snowflake which saves our valuable time for sorting out the files.
  • The most beneficial thing is its customer support which provides very sportive and professional services and resolves our all major and minor issues.
Snowflake has won the match because it is giving an excellent performance with its efficient features and reliable results. This is a totally secure program for our precious and important data.

We use Snowflake on our Data Engineering team to house our data warehouse and offload a substantial amount of our ETL processes to Snowflake. Snowflake enables us to offer ultra-fast querying to the business to quickly gain insights into our current data set.
  • Extremely intuitive and easy to use querying language.
  • Allows high performance querying of large data sets with very little setup and configuration.
  • Interfaces very easily with AWS S3.
  • Works seamlessly with both structured and unstructured data sets.
  • Very granular security.
  • IDE is OK but can be a bit clunky given it's web-based.
Snowflake works extremely well for storing a data warehouse as the querying is optimized for larger tables that are filled in batches. It also works extremely well with unstructured data and has basically replaced any need we previously had for NoSQL databases. Snowflake does not perform well for transactional databases.
  • We have been able to offload our nightly ETL jobs to run on Snowflake which has cut the time down from hours to minutes.
  • Our data engineers have been able to focus more on development rather than query optimization has given Snowflake's out-of-box high performance.
I've only had to deal with them once. They were responsive and helped me clear up the issue although it took a day or two longer than I would have preferred.

Snowflake was implemented around 6 months ago to replace Redshift as the SQL level that allows us to query our data. Snowflake enables us to query our data quickly and effectively to get insights into various aspects of the program as well as various aspects of our users' behavior. It allows us to make smarter business decisions by making that data more readily available and reliable than our previous solution was.
  • Resources that scale up and down automatically to ensure that queries run quickly and efficiently without paying for computing power that is not being used
  • Much more reliable than our previous software
  • No noticable limit to query size
  • Runs very quickly
  • The SQL syntax used is different from Redshift in a number of ways. Would be nice to have more readily available help documentation around the differences built into the system.
  • Would be awesome of there was a way to see relations between tables more effectively.
Snowflake is great when you need to store large amounts of data while retaining the ability to query that data quickly. It is very reliable and allows for auto-scaling on large queries meaning that you're only paying for the power you actually use. It's taken queries that took 20+ minutes to run on redshift down to 2 minutes on Snowflake.
  • Much more reliable access to data encourages more people to utilize what is available.
  • Quicker queries means that you can get data much more quickly.
  • Queries no longer have a limit in size since the computing power scales up with the size of the query meaning that the types of things we're able to look for has significantly expanded.
  • On the downside, this is definitely more expensive than our previous software.
For us our previous solution in this space was Redshift which we found to be much less reliable and was hardware capped. There may very well be cloud options that our company just wasn't utilizing. For us, queries constantly ran out of memory and failed. Even when they didn't outright fail, they took significantly longer to run. Overall the switch to Snowflake has been awesome and we've definitely increased our efficiency when it comes to accessing our data.
The interface is similar to other SQL query systems I've used and is fairly easy to use. My only complaint is the syntax issues. Another thing is that the error messages are not always the easiest thing to understand, especially when you incorporate temp tables. Some of that is to be expected with any new database.

We use Snowflake for basic data munging from OLTP databases, APIs, etc. It is only used in our sizable Data department. It solves the problem of spinning up and managing a DW quickly without dedicated DBA support.
  • A nice UI with options to see the SQL/Code to automate steps in the UI.
  • Has great SQL features like LISTAGG or Count Distinct, which go above and beyond Oracle and MS SQL.
  • It's very fast!
  • The SQL editor. The worksheets are nice, but code editors today have auto-fill, debug highlighters, etc. They are working on this I'm told.
  • Worksheets (where you edit SQL) cannot be exported today.
  • Occasionally a bug is introduced during releases. It's no big deal.
Snowflake is great for quick dirty analysis.
  • Snowflake allows us to iterate quickly.
  • It allows us to start small.
  • We can scale quickly.
Great, but UI improvements are coming to make the worksheets more like a code editor.
